But while resin is incredibly durable, it is not invincible. To ensure your keepsake stays crystal clear and shiny for the next 20 years, it needs a little love and the right environment.

1. The Golden Rules of Cleaning Resin

Resin is similar to glass in its glossy finish, but it is chemically closer to plastic. This means you cannot treat it like a window pane.

❌ The "Never Do" List:

• NO Alcohol or Acetone: Never use sanitizers, nail polish removers, or harsh glass cleaners (like Colin) on your block. Alcohol eats into the epoxy surface, turning it foggy and sticky permanently.
• NO Abrasive Sponges: Scrubbing pads will leave micro-scratches that dull the shine over time.
• NO Extreme Heat: Do not place your coaster or block near a stove or open flame. While our resin is heat-resistant, direct fire can warp it.

✅ How to Clean Properly:

For daily dust, simply use a dry, soft microfiber cloth. If there are fingerprints or smudges:

1. Mix a drop of mild dish soap with warm water.
2. Dip a soft cloth into the solution and gently wipe the surface.
3. Immediately dry it with a clean, dry microfiber cloth to prevent water spots.

2. Preventing the "Yellowing" Myth

One of the most common questions we get is: "Will my Varmala block turn yellow?"

The honest answer is: All resin amber over time. It is a natural chemical reaction to UV light exposure. However, at Sabhya Kala, we use high-grade "HALS" (Hindered Amine Light Stabilizer) Resin, which delays this process significantly compared to cheap craft resin.

How to protect your piece:

• Keep away from Direct Sunlight: Do not place your preserved block on a window sill that gets harsh afternoon sun. UV rays accelerate the aging process.
• Indoor Lighting is Fine: LED lights and tube lights are perfectly safe for your resin art.

3. Vastu Shastra: Where to Place Your Varmala?

4. Storing Keepsakes During Moving

Moving houses? Resin is shatter-resistant but can chip if dropped on a hard tile floor.

• Wrap the block in Butter Paper or Parchment Paper first. (Do not use plastic wrap directly on the resin for long periods, as it can leave impression marks in hot weather).
• Wrap generously in bubble wrap.
